We created Kaizen Hydration because we couldn't find an electrolyte we'd be willing to drink every single day. Everything on the shelf seemed to trade quality for convenience: synthetic sweeteners, dyes, "natural flavors," anti-caking agents, or barely enough minerals to matter. So we made our own.
Where it started
Kaizen started with two brothers, Jon and Jordan, and a frustration: we couldn't find products that met our standards for both how well they worked and how clean they were. Jordan began formulating in his college dorm room, testing ingredients and ratios until it felt right. While I was trying every different product under the sun.
A trip to Japan gave it a deeper purpose. We spent time with the Yamabushi, the mountain monks known for their ascetic practice in nature, and came home with a different view of discipline, simplicity and the power of small daily habits. That's where the name comes from: kaizen, the philosophy of continuous improvement. Through their teaching we came to realize that living life with purpose far exceeds any dollar amount.
What we refused to compromise on
- Real minerals in real amounts: 1,000mg sodium from Himalayan rock salt, 800mg potassium, 100mg magnesium glycinate.
- Ingredients from nature: organic Irish sea moss, used along the Irish coast for generations, and taurine to help cells manage their water and mineral balance.
- Real fruit, not "natural flavors": organic lemon, lime, guava, pineapple, raspberry, blueberry and açaí, sweetened with organic monk fruit. Just 1g of sugar per stick (4g in Mixed Berry).
- Nothing we'd rather leave out: no anti-caking agents, artificial sweeteners or dyes. That's why it sometimes needs an extra shake.
- Proof, not promises: every batch is third-party tested for mold, mycotoxins, glyphosate and heavy metals.
